Spacecraft Assembly Facility

Hi-Bay 2 of the Spacecraft Assembly Facility is one of the largest cleanrooms with such a high level of air purity. Here is where the parts come together to make the spacecraft. The presenting engineer for this part of the tour was Julie Webster.

Julie Webster Julie Webster is currently the Deputy Manager for the Cassini Spacraft Operations Office and the Flight Systems Assistant Section Manager. She has been at JPL for eight years, but has been associated with JPL projects since 1987. Her previous interplanetary spacecraft experience, both in system test and Mission Operations, include Magellan and Mars Observer.

Julie has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Utah, where she also studied Mechanical Engineering. She worked for several years as a chemist, specializing in instrumentation, before entering the aerospace field.
