The Multi-Mission Image Processing Lab is where image data from the spacecraft is turned from strings of zeros and ones, into pictures. The presenting engineer for this part of the tour was Sue LaVoie.
Sue LaVoie is the Section Manager for the Space Science Data Systems Section (382), and the JPL Imaging Node Manager for the Planetary Data System. In her 30 years at JPL, Ms. LaVoie has
supported JPL flight projects from Mariner 10 and Viking through Cassini and Mars Exploration Rover. She has experience in all phases of project support including pre-project planning and costing,
science instrument calibration and system test, launch and encounter mission operations science data processing (real-time, systematic, archive product generation, science and Public Information
releases), and post mission archive. Ms. LaVoie holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from California State University at Los Angeles.
