A 10-week summer session or a 15-week fall or spring session of hands-on research experience at JPL under the guidance of a technical mentor. |
| Eligibility: |
Undergraduates enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S. college or university. Applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors or seniors at the time of the internship session. Eligible fields of study are academic major or demonstrated course work concentration in engineering, mathematics, computer science or physical/life sciences. U.S. citizenship required. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. |

| Description: |
Caltech's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships program introduces undergraduate students to research at the Caltech campus or at JPL under the guidance of seasoned mentors. Students experience the process of research as a creative intellectual activity and gain a more realistic view of the opportunities and demands of a professional research career. |

For projects to be conducted at JPL, the students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. |

| Description: |
The JPLUS Program was developed to recognize achievement and high potential in students attending the 30 community colleges closest to JPL and Pasadena. Scholarships and an opportunity to apply for a research fellowship under SURF are available in this program. Faculty representatives at each college nominate students for the program each year. |

| Description: |
Space Grant is a national network of 52 state consortia to strengthen colleges and universities with interests and capabilities in aeronautics, space science and technology, and related field, and encourage cooperative programs among colleges, universities, business, federal, state, and local governments. Students in the JPL Space Grant program spend 10 weeks at JPL in the summer. |
